Advanced Naval Course
The use of CFD for naval applications is growing significantly. The cost related to commercial CFD applications is often very prohibitive for start-ups and SMEs. OpenFOAM® represents a valid alternative, providing free, reliable, robust and extensible solvers and utilities to tackle almost all naval problems. This advanced course is aimed at introducing all features available in OpenFOAM® to address marine applications.
Topics to be covered:
Ship resistance. Theoretical background.
From ship shape, to case setup, to solution monitoring, to post-processing: an overview of the entire process.
Propeller performance. Theoretical background.
From design table to performance curves: how to set up a propeller simulation.
